Saucy! By KFC Is Bringing Its Sauce-Obsessed Chicken Concept to Lakewood Ranch

Big Dip Saucy! By KFC Is Bringing Its Sauce-Obsessed Chicken Concept to Lakewood Ranch The new Manatee County restaurant opens today, Monday, May 4, in a former PDQ space on Lena Road. By Kim Doleatto May 4, 2026 Exterior of Saucy! Image: Courtesy Photo A former PDQ in Lakewood Ranch is about to become something both familiar and slightly more unhinged: another chicken-tender restaurant, this time with KFC behind it and sauce treated less like a sideliner than a main squeeze. Saucy! by KFC, a fast-food spinoff built around chicken tenders, sauces and build-your-own flavor combinations, opens today at 5484 Lena Road. The restaurant will take over a space once occupied by PDQ, the Tampa-born chicken chain that also built its reputation around tenders. In that way it’s more of a personality transplant than a category change. One chicken shop out, another chicken shop in, now with brighter branding and a larger commitment to dipping. Saucy! spread Image: Courtesy Photo The Lakewood Ranch restaurant is part of a Tampa Bay-area push for Saucy! By KFC. A second new location opens Tuesday, May 5, at 3154 Disciple Lane in Trinity, also in a former PDQ. Together, the Manatee and Pasco county openings will become Saucy!’s fifth and sixth Tampa-area locations this year, joining four restaurants already open in Tampa.  Saucy! made its national debut in Orlando in December 2024, giving KFC a younger, louder offshoot centered not on buckets or family meals, but on tenders, customization and sauces. Yum Brands, its parent company, acquired 13 former PDQ leases in Florida in 2025, with sites on the Gulf Coast, in North Florida and in Central Florida intended for future development.  That lease deal gives the Lakewood Ranch opening a little restaurant-industry drama beneath the pink-and-orange sheen. The menu is built around chicken tenders as the base for nearly everything else. Guests can order them as-is, on a sandwich, in a tortilla or in a rice bowl, then add from a sauce lineup that includes options such as classic BBQ, sweet teriyaki and jalapeño pesto ranch. The concept launched with 11 sauces, a nod to KFC’s 11 herbs and spices. The rest of the menu includes items like sauced Brussels sprouts bites, macaroni and cheese, fries, Hawaiian toast and “puffies,” sugar-dusted pastries served with raspberry, chocolate or caramel sauce.  Saucy! interior Image: Courtesy Photo The Lakewood Ranch grand opening begins at 11 a.m. with giveaways and complimentary bites while supplies last. Guests will also get an early taste of Saucy Drips by Pepsi, a line of “mood-inspired” fountain drinks being launched at Saucy! locations.  For Manatee County, the opening adds another national brand to the busy Lena Road corridor near Lakewood Ranch, where restaurant chains have continued to follow residential growth and commuter traffic.   Saucy! by KFC opens Monday, May 4, is located at, 5484 Lena Road, Bradenton. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” Review: A Stylish Sequel That Balances Nostalgia, Power, and Reinvention

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” Review: A Stylish Sequel That Balances Nostalgia, Power, and Reinvention May 4, 2026 | Sande Caplin | What’s On? There’s something to be said about timing—and for me, seeing The Devil Wears Prada 2 couldn’t have been more perfect. Before heading to the theater, I went back and streamed the original The Devil Wears Prada. That decision made all the difference. Watching the first film again reminded me just how sharp, witty, and culturally relevant it still is. It set a high bar—and walking into the sequel, I was curious: could lightning strike twice? Suncoast Post readers who enjoy film coverage may also appreciate this recent movie review of A Complete Unknown. A Familiar World—But Not Stuck in the Past The Devil Wears Prada 2 wisely avoids trying to simply recreate the magic of the original. Instead, it leans into evolution. The fashion industry has changed dramatically—digital media, influencers, and the decline of traditional print all play a role in shaping the story. And so have the characters. The film revisits Miranda Priestly’s empire with a modern twist, showing how even the most powerful figures must adapt or risk becoming irrelevant. It’s a smart angle—and one that feels authentic in today’s media landscape. Strong Performances Drive the Film The returning cast brings depth and maturity to their roles. There’s a noticeable shift in tone—less about proving oneself and more about legacy, leadership, and staying relevant in a rapidly changing world. What stands out most is how the film explores power dynamics from a different perspective. The sequel isn’t just about surviving Miranda anymore—it’s about understanding her. The Story: More Substance, Less Shock If the original was about ambition and identity, the sequel is about reinvention. The pacing is more deliberate, and while it may not have as many instantly quotable one-liners as the first film, it makes up for it with thoughtful storytelling. The stakes feel more personal this time around, especially as characters face crossroads in their careers and lives. That said, some viewers might find the film plays it a bit safe. It doesn’t take huge risks, but it does deliver a polished, engaging narrative that respects its audience. For another look at Suncoast Post movie coverage, see the Ocean’s 8 movie review. Fashion Still Steals the Show Let’s be honest—part of why we watch these films is for the fashion. And Prada 2 delivers. From high-end couture to modern street-lux looks, the wardrobe feels updated and relevant without losing that signature “Runway” aesthetic. The film does a great job reflecting how fashion has evolved while still celebrating its roots. My Take Seeing the original right before the sequel gave me a unique appreciation for how far the story—and the industry—has come. Is it better than the first? No. But it doesn’t need to be. The Devil Wears Prada 2 stands on its own as a smart, stylish, and surprisingly reflective sequel. It honors the original while offering something new for today’s audience. Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 out of 5) If you loved the original, this is absolutely worth your time—especially if you revisit it beforehand like I did. It adds layers to characters we thought we already knew and gives us a fresh look at a world that never really goes out of style.
