TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) - Tampa Bay Rays executive Eric Neander spoke to reporters less than a week after the team’s season ended in the World Series, expressing confidence in the team’s foundation.Neander said the team’s athleticism is great and its pitching and defense are good. The team’s goal of winning the World Series remains unfinished. One of Neander’s main priorities this offseason is elevating the team’s talent to continue striving for greatness rather than dwelling on the loss. Neander said he believes the future is bright.Rays’ season ends with Game 5 loss to Brewers in World Series“We’ve done a lot of special things here, but I really, really believe that certainly with the championship, the best is yet to come,” Neander said. “But I think, yeah, the years ahead, be it next year, the years that follow, we’re well positioned for, like I said, the best is yet to come.”Neander added that while there is plenty to be proud of, the team has to stay hungry for success.
