NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - A new, larger voter customer service office will open this week in North Port, county officials announced Monday. The new facility, on South Tamiami Trail in the North Port Village shopping center, will replace the current location at Biscayne Plaza, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner said in a news release.The new office opens Friday, Sept. 18.The new location will serve as the official elections office in North Port, where voters may visit if they need to conduct election tasks in person, Turner said.“As one of the fastest growing areas in the United States, it’s important that our office stay ahead of that growth and continue to offer voters the highest level of service. I believe this new location will help us do that.”Starting Oct. 19, the new location will be a new early voting site for the Nov. 3 general election, offering more space to accommodate the number of early voters the county is anticipating, he said.The new location is more th
