The kids go back to school, the pool days are winding down, and somewhere around Labor Day, we all start eyeing our calendars and thinking, OK, what s my plan? In honor of National Women s Health Fitness Day on September 30, it’s the perfect time to think about a fall fitness reset. A resolution tends to be about restriction: cutting something out, pushing harder, starting over from zero. A reset is different. It s about recalibrating what s already working and adjusting what isn t, without treating your summer as something to apologize for. A Reset That Supports More Than Fitness Growing research, including studies supported by the National Institutes of Health, points to a broader picture: rhythmic, social forms of exercise, like dance-based movement set to music, are associated with measurable reductions in symptoms of depression and anxiety.
