The Lady Indians are preparing for their state semifinals matchup in volleyball

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) - The Lady Indians varsity volleyball team is two wins away from completing the goal that everyone strives for every year, and that’s to win a state championship. For this program, it would be their seventh state title. “Anytime you get a chance to play for a championship whether it’s a district championship, regional championship, and definitely a state championship, which we have an opportunity to compete for it’s definitely exciting,” Lady Indians head coach, Jay Lanham, said. For Lanham it’s familiar territory being on this stage. He was an assistant on Venice’s last five state championship winning teams. The last of those happened in 2022. This is his first time going to States as the program’s head coach, which he says do bring some differences. “It’s a different role going there for the first time as a head coach,” Lanham said. “With this group, this team has just been special all year long.”The girls are excited for the opportunity that they have for themsel
